Year at a glance..........

In the spring "Big D" as he goes by sometimes was on the Geography Bowl Team where his team took first place at the school match, and then their team was not too far from first and second place at the District Level. Way to go GUYS! He was also part of the Washington Nationals baseball team this summer. He was one of the pitchers, and struck out quite a few boys, with not many walks this season. He also got a home run! Way to go BIG D! He's also serving on the Youth 2000 Council at school again this year, and is doing well in his studies. For now he's busy with scouts, basketball, school, and being such a GREAT kid!

Now for CRASH! Formerly know as the "little princess," and the "Blue Blurr." We've left the ballet shoes, princess dress-ups, and PINK aside and exchanged them for cleats, shin guards and the mighty orange and blue! CRASH (known for, because of the 100% she gives at practice and goes so fast that sometimes she crashes into her teammates!) loves SOCCER and is the sweeper on her team. Although they didn't have the most successful season this year, she's ready to start up in the spring again. She too is doing very well in school, and loves learning! You'll find her sitting and reading a book (for hours on end) or out playing with the dog, or of course you guessed it...........playing SOCCER! She's just a GREAT GIRL!

Now for BUG! This picture was taken at his half birthday party, a pool party. It was quite a "SPLASH!" (pun intended!) He loves first grade, and he's quite the mathematician. He breezed through the first grade addition and subtraction timing sheets, and they had him doing some times tables for awhile. Now he's working on the third grade addition and subtraction timings. Way to go BUG! This summer he was on the LA Dodgers T-ball team. He had fun, but is looking forward to the machine pitch league next summer. These days you can find him sitting quietly with a book, or outside with his basketball practicing his shot, or when there's a good game on TV, he's usually hangin' out with dad watching whatever dad's watching. And he's just an all around GREAT KID TOO!

Now for the preschooler- He's loving school and having a blast! He hasn't been able to start any of the organized sports....YET, but he's still the dare devil on his bike. He loves dad's bike ride movies with all of the crazy stunts and balancing skills demonstrated on the movies. It won't be long before he's wanting to attempt some of the more difficult "moves" he's seen. (YIKES! We're in trouble!) He has fun practicing baseball, football, soccer, and basketball with his siblings. He's looking forward to becoming a BIG BROTHER! He's going to be a GREAT HELPER with the new baby, because he's such a GREAT KID too!

Now for Kevin and Joy. Kevin has had a busy year at work. He likes his job and enjoys the friendships that he has with his co-workers. Recently, he passed the test to become an American Board Certified Toxicologist. As for church, his duties have become more time consuming with being the new Elders Quorum President, but doesn't seem to mind and seems to be enjoying the brotherhood felt in the quorum. He has also been coaching BUG's basketball team and that has been a lot of fun for both of them too.

Joy is staying busy with the daily routine of the kids; school, helping with homework, getting kids to this practice, and that scout meeting, and various games etc. and taking care of the home, church duties and preparing for the arrival of another baby soon. And when the new little one is here, life will just be that much more exciting and full of adventure :)

I'm not surprised to hear such wonderful things about all the kids. They were all certainly blessed with brains and brawn (and I mean that in the most feminine way for Brynlee :))
