What a day! On May 17, we had a somewhat of an "unlucky" Saturday. Around 9:45 A.M. Daddy,"Bug," and preschool graduate got home from the Father and Sons camp out and "Bug" was standing by the door. He got stung by some sort of a bee/hornet twice. He wasn't thrilled about that. Then, around 11:00 A.M. the "blue blurr" ended up on the ground one too many times at her soccer game. She was not happy about that and decided to call it a day! Kevin, Big D, preschool graduate went to help cut down some trees at a cemetary. And the next thing I know, I get a call from Kevin asking when preschool graduate had had his tetanus shot. He had stepped on a nail and it went through his shoe. Luckily, he had had his shot just six months earlier. Within about an hour, I get another phone call, "We're heading to the Emergency Room." me: "What happened now?" K: "Big D was helping with the trees, and a stick went through his leg and I can see the bone." me: "I'll be there as soon as I can." Lidocaine, Iodine, and twelve stitches later......but no tears from this tough eleven year old! We're on our way back to Grandma's house. I am sewing some pillows for the 4th graders, and sew my finger. Not too much blood, but didn't feel too great either. We get home, and decide we all better call it a day before something else happens. We get the kids to bed, and I'm helping Kevin open the gate to get the truck in the backyard to unload the wood. I slammed my thumb in the gate and the pain shoots up my hand. Okay.......that does it! I'm going to bed! I guess I have to remember.......
It could have been WORSE!
